Chaplains

chaplainsThe Jackson Hospital Chaplain Program is a care program available to patients and their families. They are hands-extend, care for the patient’s spiritual needs.

This program is managed by the local ministerial association and rotates hospital call among the chaplains. Each patient care unit is furnished with a list of chaplains to call when needed. Local ministers also visit patients who are members of their particular congregations. In the event that a patient is of a faith not served through the chaplaincy program, every effort would be made at the patient or family’s request to locate an appropriate spiritual leader. If not located, a member of the chaplaincy program would be contacted.

For patients having a medical emergency or taken to the Emergency Department due to a trauma, the chaplains are on call 24 hours a day/7 days a week. The Chaplain will arrive to the hospital to provide comfort and support for the patient and their family. The Chaplain could also be the communication link between family members and the nursing staff who are caring for the patient.
